About

Anabelle Stonehouse (b.1997) is a ceramic artist working and living in Naarm/Melbourne.

Anabelle completed a Master of Fine Art at RMIT University in 2025. Her studio-based research project employs an expanded ceramic practice and unconventional installation strategies to investigate and recontextualise the feminine experience.

Aspects of the grotesque, beautification, the abjected body, the domestic realm and patriarchal value systems are explored through active installations in an attempt to reveal and challenge gender biases.

Primarily with porcelain, she uses hand-building and wheel throwing techniques, as well ready-made objects. Anabelle explores feminist concepts with refined ceramic forms and decorative embellishments.
